River Trip July 2014

I honestly felt bad for a minute when I was invited to spend a few days at the Colorado River with my parents when Hannah was away at girls' camp, but I knew she was having a good time there. So I decided to take them up on this opportunity to spend time with my parents, Kaleb, and a few cousins.

The kids always enjoy taking the paddle boat out behind my parents home.

We were able to celebrate my dad's 61st birthday with him. I'm sure his day didn't go as planned as his car broke down and it was 120 degrees outside. My sister Megan and her family drove from Henderson, Nevada to spend a few hours with us.

On Thursday we launched the boat and cruised down the river to my Mom's favorite new spot called Topock 66. It's a restaurant with a swimming pool.

We found this rope swing and decided to try it out. It was a lot of fun!

On Friday July 25 we went to a little Italian restaurant in town to have lunch and then launched the boat and headed to Topock Gorge.

The kids were adventurous and did cliff jumping.

On the way back to the marnia the weather changed and you could see lightning.
We decided to stop by Topock 66 to have some ice cream and fruit and listen to a band play country music while we swam in the pool.

Kaleb and Cole swam across the river and used mud to write HI on the little island
