The last weekend before school started we decided to get away for a day and head to the beach. We packed up the bikes and drove to Morro Beach. First we stopped by Hearst Castle and watched a film about the castle. Then we headed to Morro Beach. We unpacked the bikes and rode to a little restaurant to have lunch. The kids and Richard had pizza, I had fish and chips and clam
chowder.
After lunch we went kayaking in the bay. We paddled over to a little island and then paddled over to the seals. Hannah was terrified of the seals and started screaming. Since she was in a kayak with dad I had Kaleb switch places with her to go on a kayak with me, so Richard could get a closer look at the seals without all the drama.
Later in the afternoon we rode down to this hole in the wall aquarium. They each received a bag of food to feed the seals. When Hannah opened the bag and realized they were small fish heads, she dropped the whole thing. Kaleb on the other hand didn't mind the fish heads.
We then rode out bikes to the other side of the bay and went to the beach. The kids ventured into the water, but it was a bit too cold for me.
In the evening we went to Chili's for dinner.
This is a picture of Hannah trying to keep warm.
